FAQ
Do I need to backwash if I have a cartridge filter?
Nope! If your pool has a cartridge filter, you don’t need to backwash it like you would with a sand or DE filter. Cartridge filters work differently and are cleaned manually, usually by removing the cartridge and hosing it down.
That said, we strongly recommend rinsing your cartridge filter at least once or twice a season, or more often if your pool sees a lot of use. A clean filter ensures better water flow and improved filtration. You can always ask your Crush Pools technician for help or advice if you’re unsure how or when to clean it. We’ve got you covered.
