How do I set my salt cell for spring, summer, and fall weather in Canada?
Your salt cell output needs to be adjusted seasonally based on water temperature and UV exposure. Run your cell at lower output settings during the cool spring and fall months, and increase the percentage during peak summer heat.
- Spring & Fall Settings: Cooler water holds onto chlorine longer and experiences less UV degradation, so setting your cell around 20–40% output is usually plenty.
- Summer Settings: Hot summer weather, heavy rainstorms, and higher swimmer loads increase chlorine demand, requiring you to turn your cell output up to 60–80%+.
