How do you backwash a pool?

Backwashing is an essential part of keeping your pool filter running properly. To do it, first turn off the pump. Then, turn the filter valve to the “backwash” setting. Once in place, turn the pump back on and let it run for about one minute, or until the water in the sight glass looks clear. After backwashing, turn the pump off again and switch the valve to “rinse.” Turn the pump on for about 30 seconds, then turn it off once more and set the filter back to “filter” mode.

If you’re unsure, we’re happy to walk you through it.
