Quality Service You Can Count On
Your pool is a major investment, and we’re here to make sure it’s handled properly from day one. At Crush Pools, we don't believe in rushed jobs. While other companies might push through 10 or 12 openings a day, we intentionally limit our schedule to 5 or 6. This gives our senior technicians, many of whom have been with us for years, the time to actually do the job right.
We bring professional-grade equipment to every site, including high-powered Honda pumps and power washers to ensure your covers and pool deck are truly clean. We don't just "open" your pool; we optimize your entire system for the season ahead. Once we’re finished, you’ll receive a detailed email report with a photo of your pool and an update of your equipment.

Common Questions About Pool openings
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO OPEN MY POOL?
We recommend opening your pool as early as possible (April or early May). Many owners wait for the May long weekend, but earlier is better—especially for those with safety covers. Opening early prevents the water from sitting stagnant as it warms up, which is the primary cause of the “green swamp” algae blooms that can take weeks to clear.
WILL YOU OPEN MY POOL IF THE WATER LEVEL IS TOO LOW?
For water bag or lock-in cover openings, we typically visit twice. During the first visit, we perform 90% of the work, but if the water is below the skimmer line, we cannot start the system. We ask you to fill the pool to the proper level, then call us to return and finish the equipment startup.
HOW LONG AFTER MY POOL OPENING UNTIL I CAN ACUTALLY SWIM?
We know you’re itching to dive in, but the timeline depends on your pool’s condition at opening:
-
If your water is clear: You should wait 24 hours after our technicians perform the initial chlorine shock. This allows the chemicals to circulate fully and reach safe levels for your skin and eyes.
-
If your water is cloudy or green: It typically takes 2 to 5 days of continuous filtration and balancing to get the water swim-ready.
-
The “June Delay”: If you wait until the heat of June to open a green pool, the cleanup process can take up to 2 weeks. This is why we strongly recommend an April or early May opening to ensure you are ready for the first warm weekend of the year!
-
DO I NEED TO BE HOME FOR THE POOL OPENING?
Not necessarily. As long as we have access to your backyard, your pool equipment, and a working garden hose, our team can complete the entire process. We will email you a digital “Opening Report” once the system is up and running.
WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR THE TECHNICIANS?
To ensure a quick and efficient opening, please:
-
Ensure the backyard gate is unlocked.
-
Ensure there is power to the pool shed/equipment.
-
Bring your “Winter Box” (plugs, gauges, and baskets) out to the equipment pad.
-
Have your garden hose accessible.
